Visting a few Schools/ De Visita a las Escuelas

This Monday, June 1st, we had the opportunity to visit the Cesar Chavez schools. Some of our group stayed in a kindergarten bilingual classroom with a talented teacher. While we were there we got to see her lead group time, a read out-loud, centers, and how she wrapped up the day. Students wowed us as they read in English when they were only 5 or 6 years old.

At the end of the day, we got together as a group in a conference room and talked about some of the things each group noticed. Our collegues at the middle school had some great insights and shared how the teachers managed behavior. We pointed out things like the anchor charts and word wall the teacher had created!

Many anchor charts with key information were spread around the room. The word wall was something that kept growing each by adding new words they could read.
