Chicago Math and Science Academy/ Academia de Matemáticas y Ciencias de Chicago

This Monday, June 8th, we visited the Chicago Math and Science Academy! We were very excited as the Principal welcomed us and split us into groups for a tour of the school. Student Ambassadors led the way and told us why their school is doing things the right way, and how it has impacted their lives.

After the tours, we had the opportunity to sit down with the Principal, the Dean of Students, teachers, and a few students. We asked questions from discipline, to student motivation, teaching strategies, and how to they found to increase parent involvement.

Este lunes, 8 de junio, visitamos la Academia de Matemáticas y Ciencias de Chicago. La Directora nos dio la bienvenido y pronto nos repartió en grupos para una gira de la escuela. Embajadores Estudiantiles nos guiaron y nos contaron porque la escuela de ellos está haciendo las cosas de la mejor manera y como ha impactado sus vidas.

Después de los paseos por la escuela, tuvimos la oportunidad de sentarnos con la Directora, el Director de Disciplina, maestras, y algunos alumnos. Les preguntamos preguntas desde la disciplina, la motivación estudiantil, estrategias de enseñanza y como encontraron la forma de incrementar el involucramiento parental.
